Ángeles Béjar, Luis Rubiales’ mother, has ended her hunger strike over the treatment of her son after being discharged from Santa Ana Hospital in Motril. She was admitted on Wednesday due to physical problems and was discharged late in the day, sleeping at her home and concluding the protest, as reported by Europa Press.

Ángeles Béjar, the mother of Luis Rubiales, who has been temporarily removed from his position as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), was discharged on Wednesday night after being admitted to Santa Ana Hospital in Motril (Granada) earlier in the day due to various physical problems resulting from her confinement and three-day hunger strike.

Rubiales’ mother left the hospital’s emergency department after 11:30 PM on Wednesday, accompanied by her son, and her response to the treatment she received was deemed satisfactory. This treatment has led to an improvement in the medical condition for which she was hospitalized.

According to sources close to the family cited by Europa Press, Ángeles Béjar has now officially ended her hunger strike following the events of Wednesday. “She was already tired of being here and uncomfortable,”

When Bejar was taken to Santa Ana Hospital in Motril, she exhibited various ailments likely caused by her chronic kidney disease and exacerbated by the three days of confinement and hunger strike.

She displayed significant swelling in her legs, possibly due to fluid accumulation, along with symptoms of vomiting, dizziness, and distress, as well as severe physical discomfort. These conditions prompted the doctor who was treating her at the church where she was holding the confinement to recommend her transfer to the medical facility from which she has now been discharged.
