The matter could have very harsh consequences for Pogba’s career, as he was reportedly advised to use this product by an American doctor who is a friend of his. Presumably, this occurred during the midfielder’s stay in Miami, where he was on vacation but also training to recover from another injury, as reported by the same source.
Now, Pogba is awaiting the confirmation of the counter-analysis. If the positive result is confirmed, Juventus could seek to terminate the contract. The French international had signed until 2026, earning 8 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses. The suspension that could be imposed by the Italian National Anti-Doping Agency could be up to four years, depending on whether intent is considered.
Pogba, 30 years old, was provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone in an anti-doping control following a match in which he was on the bench, specifically against Udinese on August 20, in the first round of Serie A (3-0 for Juventus). He cannot train from this Tuesday onward due to his suspension. Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba’s agent, is already studying the defense strategy.
