KL Rahul: KL Rahul is fully fit ahead of the match against Pakistan. On Friday, he practiced wicketkeeping for 45 minutes.
Asia Cup 2023, KL Rahul: On September 10, 2023, there will be a match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Both teams will compete in the Super-4 round. A reserve day has also been kept for this epic clash. KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah have joined the team before the match against Pakistan. Rahul has become fit after a long time, so there were questions in everyone’s mind whether he could do wicketkeeping.
On Friday, KL Rahul answered his critics by practicing wicketkeeping on the nets for nearly 45 minutes. Before this, he had also practiced batting extensively in the nets.
Watching Rahul’s intense wicketkeeping practice in the nets, the possibility of his inclusion in India’s playing eleven for the Super-4 match against Pakistan on Sunday has increased. Rahul last played an ODI for India in March this year against Australia in Chennai.

KL Rahul is now keeping in a more match-like situation with a batter in front of the stumps. He is being given throwdowns outside the off-stump from halfway down the pitch.#KLRahul | #AsiaCup23 | #INDvPAK pic.twitter.com/TElK5Xn5Bx
Rahul began his practice session at the Premadasa Stadium by standing at the stumps, and two support staff members played the roles of batsmen and bowlers, simulating wicketkeeping drills against spinners. Rahul was tasked with practicing taking deliveries that went outside the off-stump, and he did so without any difficulty.
He then shifted his focus to the leg-side, practicing taking deliveries that were directed down the leg. He maintained a calm composure throughout this exercise. Following this drill, his stumping abilities were also assessed. Later, Kuldeep Yadav batted, and Rahul practiced wicketkeeping against the left-handed batsman.
However, the team management will have to consider deeply before including him in the playing eleven. In Rahul’s absence, Ishan Kishan has been fulfilling the role of wicketkeeper-batsman. Kishan has impressed everyone by scoring four half-centuries in four matches, including three against the West Indies and one against Pakistan.
