Shikhar Dhawan: Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan has reacted to the selection of the 15-member squad for the One Day International (ODI) World Cup 2023.

Shikhar Dhawan’s Reaction On India’s World Cup Squad: Indian star batsman Shikhar Dhawan has not been included in the Indian squad for this year’s One Day International (ODI) World Cup. Now, Dhawan has reacted to the 15-member team selected for the World Cup. Previously, he was part of Team India in the 2019 World Cup. This time, Shubman Gill has been chosen as the opener.

Dhawan took to Twitter to express his reaction to the squad. He wrote, “Congratulations to my fellow players and friends for being selected to represent India in the World Cup! With the prayers and support of 1.5 billion people, you carry our hopes and dreams forward. I hope you bring the cup back home and make us proud!”

In 2023, Dhawan hasn’t played any matches.

It should be noted that before this, Dhawan was part of the Indian squad in the 2019 World Cup. However, he has not been included in the team this time. Dhawan has been away from the Indian team for some time now. This year, Dhawan has not played any international matches so far. His last match was against Bangladesh in December 2022. Since then, he has consistently been kept out of the team.

So far, this has been Dhawan’s international career:

Dhawan has represented India in all three formats of cricket. Up to this point, he has played 34 Test matches, 167 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 68 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). In Test cricket, he has scored 2315 runs at an average of 40.61 in 58 innings, including 7 centuries and 5 half-centuries.

In ODIs, he has played 164 matches and scored 6793 runs at an average of 44.11, with 17 centuries and 39 half-centuries to his name.

In T20 Internationals, Dhawan has played 66 matches, scoring 1759 runs at an average of 27.29 and a strike rate of 126.36, with 11 half-centuries.

Please note that these statistics are accurate as of my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021 and may have changed since then.
